Avatars and signatures [Archive]

This new format is still in the "ouch my freaking eyes" stage for me, so I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this or not, but anyway. I have an avatar, strangely enough. But I can't change it (I'm assuming that's because not having boards+ I shouldn't have one in the first place).

I'd also like to change my signature... but I can't find where to do that either.

Is there a way to delete or change them?

You might just not have noticed in the User Control Panel that as well as the menu bar across the top, there is also a sub-menu down the left hand side, which gives you access to avatars, signatures, etc.
It's a strange format.

Ohh! Thanks Dan. This format is totally weird. It's going to take a little getting used to.

Fixed the sig, but the avatar still won't delete. So it's probably due to the whole Boards+ thing.

At this pt in time you're sig doesn't appear to me.

Most everyone's av (& that incudes some nonplus members) .. appear to me.

Yeah, I can't see LC's sig either...maybe you have to log out and then back in again? I have noticed a few new avatars...one in particular gives me the heebies.

Font size is way too small. tried on diff Pc's and very hard to read.

I think it'd make more sense to have the name below the avatar, as opposed to the current position to the left of the avatar. Moving the name under the avatar would afford the extra space to increase avatar sizes to a more Ozho friendly 140x140. ;) It'd remove the need for the ugly resizing that's going on for nearly everyone.

Whilst I'm complaining and on topic, let me just say that I find signatures distracting. Is there any way to hide other people's signatures? (edit: stupid me, I've found out how now)

If you are in Firefox it says "User Avatar" and Links to it wtf?, but on internet explorer, the picture error comes up :|

The upgrade process didn't bring some of the avatars, and the rank logos (like the Plus or Admin logos) over from the old boards. So you can either manually adjust your av, or wait for me to bring them over from the old folder.

Ah... Yep, I'll stick with the Green one then.

In fact, cheers for changing the avatars over. I wouldn't have switched styles and realised the green one looks crisper in general if it didn't happen. :D

Although, the avatar could do with being above the user name rather than side-by-side...

How come when I'm at work and at home on my laptop, the avatars etc are on the left hand side, but when I'm on my home desktop, it goes back to the right. I'm logged in every time. Is there an explorer setup I need to change?

You're just special. :P

(I think you just need to delete your Boards cookie on the home PC and log in anew.)

Press Ctrl-F5 (forced total refresh). Your home PC still has the old stylesheet in the cache. You shouldn't need to do anything with your cookie.

If that works, then cool. (Some of the style sheet data is stored in the database, so I figured logging out and in again might fix that.)

I had the same problem at first (people congratulating you for the avatar move but no move reflected on my screen) -- a forced refresh fixed it.

The mods here do not work for any NBL clubs in any official/professional capacity, so therefore professionalism can not be expected.

Thank you for drawing my attention to this issue though. I would just like to say :lol: :lol: :lol: to whichever mod changed the avatar.
