I thought Andrew Bogut was going to get more oppertunities this season and be more of a go-to guy... So far he's averaging only 29 mpg but is leading the league in FG%. Do you think as the season progresses, he'll become more of the player Scott Skiles said he would...?

Well he has only just come back from injury.

Besides that, as I said earlier on this evening... its not what coaches go with in the first 10-15 games...

A bit has been said about Skiles automatically benching any big guy that gets 2 fouls in the 1st... so early fouls could be a big problem for Bogut this year.

In the first 2 games Bogues was plagued by foul trouble pretty much the entire game. In the one against Toronto, Skiles just seemed to be experimenting with Gadzuric. Maybe he thought that Gadz could some how handle bosh better than Bogues did? They finally started going to him in the 4th though and he absolutely man handled bosh. Came up with some monster plays that all added up to nothing because Sessions can't play D for shit.

Bogut does have a shot to make it there since there aren't that many very good centers in the East.

You guys see the highlights of the BOS game? What a joke, didn't do anything and gets T'd up for a second time and thrown out...

I can't believe he got tossed either! Absolute crap. Prevented him from getting a big double double too as he had 20 and 8 at that time.

A staredown is worth a tech now?

Yeah those tech's were pretty soft, could of really changed the outcome of the game if he stayed in. Played some great D on Garnett.

Bogut and the bucks seems to be playing better, he's doing well on D and on the boards. Got a lot of new players on the team who want to impress and shoot the lights out, so can't imagine him getting enough shots up to really get his numbers up in that area, but defense is what he is there for.

It will be very interesting to see how Bucks go once Redd gets back. They have a big stretch of games coming up, 7 games in 10 days, with 6 on the road. Will be a huge test for them, and could really cement some rotations on this team, a good chance for Bogut to really step up.

After some big games on the boards, Bogut's now averaging 11.4 RPG...

Up against Dwight today. Since the arrival of international league pass it's amazing how frequently I am now working from home when the Bucks are playing.

Bogut had a good start against Howard, but then left the game with a knee injury early in the 3rd term.

I wondered how he went from 7/8 mid 2nd with Dwight in foul trouble, to finish on 7/9. :P

I watched the game, he owned Dwight in the first half. Seriously.

There's a writeup about just how good Andrew has been of late at Bucks Diary (http://bucksdiary.blogspot.com/).

Thought it would be interesting to see a comparison of the Bucks record with and without Bogut and with and without Redd to get a sense of each players value to the team.

At this stage the Bucks sit at 7-12

In games that Bogut has played they are 7-9 (with one of those losses coming to Orlando in the game which Bogut went down injured, had he stayed on and kept playing the way he was playing it could possibly be 8-8). That means they are 0-3 without him.

In games that Redd played they are 2-3 (including a win in NY in the last game Redd played before his extended streak on the sideline. I'm not sure if he actually got injured in that game, but did play below average minutes). That leaves them 5-9 without him.

Obviously it is still early days in the season so you can't draw too much from it, but it may be an interesting statistic to revisit later in the season. It just seemed, before even looking at the numbers, that the Bucks seem to cope alight in the absense of Redd, while losing Bogut makes a big difference.

I was thinking the same thing earlier today...with him they look and perform better, wtihout him they look a bit lost at times and certainly more vulnerable.

Bogut was named to the NCAA Mountain West Conference conference team of the past 10 years this past week.

He's out for all of their current 3 game road trip (@ Sac was the first of the trip). He's been having back spasms on and off so they've left him to rest up and get treatment for a solid stretch of time.
