Reading an article in the Seattle Times and apparently, there are rumours buzzing that Jackson may wanto to play along side Taylor and Taurasi in Phoenix...Could this possibly be true? I highly doubt it would fit under the salary cap even if it was the case...

there is 1 extremely good reason why this is true and it is not penny!!!!!!!!

What's the reason then?

Correct if I'm wrong, but aren't we better served by discontinuing the practice of 'player X has gone to Country/Team Y and the reason might be another player (unmentioned but heavily implied)' all the while giggling behind our hands like school girls who've discovered their favourite teacher has a first name!

I don't see how a person's sexuality is relevant to any of these discussions other than having a relationship (same sex/opposite sex/both or whatever) that acts as a motivation for a geographical relocation.

Its happened in a couple of threads so far and I don't understand the giggling attitude. Can we just say Lauren might choose to move for personal reasons?

Huh? I just thought that it had something to do with money!

I don't see how money could be a factor - she'd be on the league maximum wherever she went.

When I first read the Mercury thing I just dismissed it as pure speculation by Jayda Evans, and that's pretty much the way I will continue to view it until I hear something more substantial.
Given how big a deal Lauren made out of the team needing to stay in Seattle to retain her services (when it looked like they might be moving to Oklahoma) it would seem pretty poor form to bail on them now that they are definitely staying.

(Not that I wouldn't love to have her in Phoenix of course ... gawd it has been ages since we had a top quality big)

I thought that maybe it had something to do with a new sponsorship or endorsement deal. I know she is already pretty much the highest paid player in the WNBL, but i thought that maybe she had been offered some new endorsement type deal through a company in Phoenix.

That's what I meant when I said that I though it was about money.

LJ going to the Mercury would be nice to see IMO. But Seattle losing her would be a devastating blow at a time where the sports scene is hurting professionally all around. As long as she DOES NOT end up as an emissary of evil for the NDCELE WNBA Chapter, I'd be OK wherever she goes outside of that.

In the Daily Telegraph interview, she has confirmed talks with Phoenix coach Corey Gaines, Connecticut's Mike Thibualt, and Seattle's Brian Alger while playing for Spartak Moscow lately.
