i originally had them down to win in the tipping but thought they couldn't pull it off. You beauty, hard work pays off and it couldn't happen to a nicer team :D , though it does make Graf's move to Sydney at season's end just that little bit more likely.
Although she has put forward crap for her bench - look at Dalgleish & Jansen, for example - and has the strangest pattern for subbing throughout games - only highlighted by leaving on an injured Bishop last night for no good reason - she does pull in the players without which Canberra wouldn't have a hope. While this may be Canberra's swansong, oh well, at least as the national coach she''ll still have her chance to put her tongue up Jackson's claca.

Nice win indeed for the Lynx. They genuinely outplayed the visitors, who weren't terrible themselves. In fact we had real trouble dealing with Price & Pluimer. Price's usual athleticism was on show but she was also hitting those flat jumpers of hers at a great clip, which was unexpected. Pluimer used her size & low post moves to good effect and I don't really understand why she played so little in the second half. Maybe she copped an injury that I didn't notice?
Afeaki threatened to take over the game in the 4th with a nice little patch, but for the majority of the game I thought we did a pretty reasonable job of containing her. Coach McKay gave the opposition MVP award to Poto, who was reasonably effective on offence (if not exactly efficent) and is always dangerous, but got absolutely burned by Doccy at the other end. 32 points, 12 boards, 9 assists & 3 steals for the game MVP :D
I think a combination of discipline & desperation got the job done in the end. Perth got caught out quite a few times failing to get back in transition defence, but apart from that they also looked less sloppy with the ball when things settled down in the half court. Losing the rebounding battle by only 2 with the height differential out there was a top effort.
Very few passengers, pretty much everyone chipped in which is exactly the way it needs to be for us to knock off a quality side like the Flames. The starters were all important, and Mercer came off the bench to hit some vital shots to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
Arguably our best win of the season. Great stuff, Lynx!

Nice win from Perth. The Flames continue their crappiness on the road - their biggest win on the road has been 3 points and their three wins have been against AIS x2 and Logan. The general inconsistency this season has been frustrating, but they are reasonably young blah blah...

Yep was a great game last night with all lynx players bringing something into the game, just a great team effort. Was really impressed with Ash Gilmore last night and :D she got the coaches nod.
Big win for Perth

by the looks of things the Doc ran a clinic on shooting again on the opposition. as for her defense... she was always solid before ducking over to europe so i'd imagine she'd be improved on that level. we sydneysiders get to find out in a fortnight when the Doc comes to visit! can't wait! :D
