View Full Version : CLUB/Domestic basketball fees
Looking to compare different fees at all the different clubs and states.
Here at Ipswich Basketball it will cost a player $60 to register to the Association ($100 to pay for both seasons in the year is a option) for the season which is good for about 15-16 games.
Then each game costs the teams each $55.
Some clubs will charge a fee to join, uniform fee and training fee etc. Being a school set up we don't charge any fees except for a season fee which pays the fees and then we give back the extra money (or credit for next season) if there are byes, miss finals etc.
What are the fees where you play/coach/kids play?

one victorian association....Juniors
Domestic membership = $65 per player to club ( $5.oo per game) $27.00 per game teamsheet $1.50 entry 2 Seasons per year
Rep basketball = $250.00 membership plus $7.00 per week $55.00 teamsheet...$2.00 entry 1 season plus tournament entry costs
Nitcp = $360.00 per year
No uniforms supplied apart from top...shorts to be purchased as well as other apparrell in all above
Not sure how much association charges the domestic club to enter team in competition, but would not be cheap as the fine system to club is huge ..eg: unregistered player $50.00,forfeit $100.00

Agreed - why domestic competitions (maybe with the exception of Division 1/Championship) play quarters is beyond me...two halves gives you only one big break in play... ;)

Another Victorian association ...
Our Association comprises 17 Domestic clubs. Each of the clubs has a different fee structure and also may offer different incentives.
We have two seasons per year.
The Association charges the club/team:
$78 per team to enter the season (so entering 33 teams costs the club $2574).
$2 per person above the age of 5 to get in the door (players included) (you can get a pass-out stamp to go to other venues on the same day as we play across multiple venues)
$27 per team for the "team sheet" - the cost of having a game on Saturday
My club charges:
$65 per person to play for the season. Pay before the due date and you get a $10 discount to $55. This is done to encourage earlier payment.
Note: for second and third children of the same family this reduces ($60 and $50 also with the $10 discount available for early payment). 4th and more children register for free.
$5 per person to play on the day (this amount is at the discretion of the team manager and held by the team; the club never sees this money)
The $65/$55 season fee contributes towards the $78 team entry, hire of training courts during the season - a major expense, season participation trophy on awards day.
The $5 per person is managed by the team and almost all teams use this to pay for the $27 team sheet each week and then create a kitty for an end-of-season breakup.
Of course, on top of this you need to purchase a uniform
Incentives:
We offer u8's free registration for their first season. Buy a uniform, but you can sell that back if you don't continue.
My clubs philosophy in relation to fees is:
- we run the basketball operations to break-even
- we do additional fundraising or find sponsors to do the extra things we want to do. The reason for this is so as not to double dip into parents pockets. For example, we have a sponsor for drink-bottles with their, and the clubs logo; we have another sponsor who provides kits for coaches (6 correct size basketball, cones, training bibs, etc).
I know other clubs have different fee structures:
One other domestic club does no additional fundraising and their season registration is a flat $85 per person
Another domestic club charges $155 registration but pays the $27 team sheet so the team players you don't contribute $5 per week (less things for the team manager to do).
Hope all of this makes sense.

Nope - Knox
(Thought my location would have given that away)
Yes and Dandenong don't charge for kids under 10 - a much better structure in my opinion - my kids have to wait outside at Knox
