I approached this game wanting both to win - yeah, impossible, I know. If I wasn't supporting the Captials I wouldn't have minded this as the grand final. After Townsville's game last week I really thought they would roll Bulleen, especially without Hammonds, but Bulleen's teamwork was impressive tonight.
Even though I'm a long time (ACT) Capitals supporter I think if Bulleen was to get up any disappointment would be momentary. The Capitals have the strongest team (going eight deep) by far but if they're not at their best it could be a debut win for Bulleen. Win, win really. Well done, Bulleen.
The only aspect that ruined tonight was the sight of some ex-Sydney contaminants. At least this board has been mostly free. Very welcome indeed.

For me there were two disappointments
1. Rohanee getting fouled out, right when she was leading her team back into the game. Looked set for a great finish until then
2. The singer that spent half time killing Killing Heidi. Oh the pain!
Good game by the Boomers though - credit where it's due - their bigs did a great job of combining to compete hard with Townsville's excellent front line, and Glaubitz stepped up in a major way to help the team put points on the board.
The Fire just couldn't get things going. Even when they were making runs it didn't really look convincing or sustainable, so good effort by Bulleen's D to make that happen. 1 turnover at 3Q time was an amazing effort too ... definitely helped offset the rebounding hammering they copped.

I'd also like to congratulate Bulleen on making the Grand Final, although as a Caps supporter I hope they only make it a close game and don't pull off a surprise victory.
I'd also like to congratulate Cheryl Chambers on winning the Coach of the Year. I deserved award for a excellent and greatly under rated coach. I hope Carrie seriously considers her as one of her Opal assistants.

I would have to say the BIGGEST dissapointment with the game and the whole season for that matter is the idiot with the microphone for the ABC. PLay school is more his speed. Not sure about Timmsy either sometimes I wonder what she is doing off camera to get SOOO excited.
Come on Aunty get some decent comentators and train your camera people a bit better.

Well done Boomers! desi needs another game like that and penaluna and milner to bring their a-game with pardon and reid hitting everything and they might just be chance. that or the caps come out with their worst game of the year- hey it could happen- flames last year!
but i'm with the underdog!!! if the least it does is keep the maher group from cheryl's job next year... its done its trick!
Yep, amazing game by Glaubitz. Really good win for the Boomers. Hopefully they can make a game of it in the Grand Final.
Haven't watched a lot of the WNBL over the last few years (was a Tigers fan, and havent been able to get on either of the other 2 melbourne sides), but watched most of the finals and its been quality viewing.

Congrats to Bulleen on a different topic. It according to the WNBL team list, they have signed Jenna O'Hea. They have a brilliant lineup and one that puts them in the top 3 and could give them a title.

I was looking at the team lineups on the WNBL website and noticed there is no Zoe Carr listed. Is she not coming back this season? She was an unsung hero in Bulleen's charge to last seasons GF.. is it a personal decision not to come back? Or is the WNBL websit just not up to date?
