Cambage has left the AIS and is choosing between Sydney and Bulleen. As a Caps fan, I'm a bit disappointed she didn't choose to stay at the AIS for one more season and when Bishop left, signed with them. However, for the best to her development, I think playing for the Boomers under the tutelage of Tom Maher would be the right thing.
I can't see Sydney being able to lure her. They don't seem to have a lot to offer. Especially as Cambage is studying at Melbourne and her family live in Victoria's capital also.

I am surprised she would not play for her former junior club. Has she forgotten who developed her?

I think it could still be any club, Every club will want to talk to her at some stage. Two clubs, Sydney & Bulleen were mentioned just to make the story more interesting. I think the Rangers, Logan & the Fire will all talk to her as well. Im rooting for Logan or the Rangers to snag her.

Big Jim - Maybe a reason not to go back. Funny that the Rangers current WNBL coach was also her last junior coach at the rangers.
And i dont think she would be looking at the developement of the team in a great light either considering their finish last year.
Funny how she mentioned the 2 bigs at the Caps - but was considering Bulleen - but dont they have Hammonds and Penaluna in their line up? I know Hammonds will be coming back from Knee injury, so wouldn't it be better to head to a team that requires a major force inside.

For a Dandenong junior through and through - at least since leaving the powerhouse of Westernport (I think) - why would she choose anything other than Rangers?
This club prostitution that we are forced into, at the expense of loyalty, just doesn't sit well with me.

If the league is ever going to get more professional and move into a more serious direction, people like you need to get over that way of thinking. So what if she played for the Rangers as a junior. If there are better opportunities out there for her, which there obviously are, Cambage has every right to choose them. Be it for the money, coaches, championship opportunities etc.
What your saying is like Lauren Jackson should always stay in the WNBL and not venture out into Europe/WNBA because she was raised in the WNBL and therefore should be loyal to where she came from. Give me strength.
Liz Cambage is playing with Bulleen next season as her mother signed a contract on Tuesday. As Liz is 17 she is legally a minor and can't sign contracts.

No, that is not what I am saying.
What I am saying, maybe asking, is, is there any place for club loyalty? - it bothers me to think that to be professional you have to have no loyalty to your club.
And I think I was also saying, why would she go to Bulleen, when everything she needs should already be at Dandenong, even more so than Bulleen.
I reckon there would have to be a negative reason why she would not be signing with Dandenong.
There will always be those like you who will spin everything to suit with meaningless phrases like "professionalism".
No doubt you will argue the "peanuts and get monkeys" theory too - assuming that everyone who is good at something has to be greedy too.
And I think you'll be fine - seems to me you've already got plenty of the strength of your own convictions.
It amusing as always, when the close minded accuse others of being that which they are.

If I was narrow-minded I would be saying exactly what you said. I am looking at the bigger picture and unfortunately for Dandenong, the Rangers don't "have everything she needs". Money is only one issue. The Rangers don't have the coaching qualities like Bulleen has. I mean, no disrespect to Dale, but compared to Tom Maher, who is one of the most successful Aussie coaches, he just doesn't compare. The Rangers administration is also pretty ordinary and seems at times to have way too much politics going on.
Of course loyalty is important to an extent, but at the end of the day if there are simply far better options on the table, more times than not your going to go with them.
The most important thing for Liz right now is her development, and having the opportunity to be coached by one of the best to well, nothing close to, is a big difference. Also, Bulleen have had a recent roster of pretty solid players, and that will be important for her also to learn from. Dandenong thus far don't. For these reasons, I guess you could say it's a pretty big peanut to be dealing with...

Providing some substantive information rather than emotive jingoisms is always a better way to indicate one's broad mindedness ;)

Not at all, and nor do I claim to be. Hence I used ''seems'' as I have heard of a lot of politics going on there. The name Ryan comes to mind...

Are you sour about everyone? You got what you wanted with Noonan. Now you want to attack Dandenong.

Actually Big Jim, seeing is believing. You can tell the way Dandenong has been running the organisation (And that's a compliment) past couple of years, that things have been a bit shaky. I'm talking about certain players having an influence on the club and cood coaches being replaced...
Anyways, the topic was about Cambage and by the sounds of it, she's signed with the Boomers. Good for her, and good luck.

just look at who is coaching at Bulleen and you can understand why she chose that club.
You would have to be nuts to look elsewhere.
