Chinese superstar center Yao Ming's broken left foot could be a "career-threatening" injury, the team doctor for the NBA's Houston Rockets told the Houston Chronicle on Monday.

Heard it could just be to keep in him off Chinese national duties so he can actually rest for the summer and last a full season next year. I really hope that is the case, it would be a shame to see his career cut short, largely in part to the high expectations China had of him every NBA off season.

That's quite a large market chunk the league may lose if Yi doesn't pan out, and I think everyone in the world has forgot about Sun Yu.
