Former Wollongong Hawk David Andersen scored 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting including a three-pointer and collected five rebounds and one assist in 19 minutes on court when he made his regular season debut for the Houston Rockets in America’s NBA today.
Andersen committed four fouls along the way and was the most efficient player (+8) on the Rockets team in a 96-87 loss to the Trailblazers at the Rose Garden in Portland.
In other games, Boston got a road win against the Celtics 95-89 despite 38 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 4 blocked shots for LeBron James while Washington upset Dallas in Texas 102-91 with Gilbert Arenas posting 29 points and 9 rebounds.
In the final match on opening day, the Los Angeles Lakers are leading the Los Angeles Clippers 91-79 with 5:35 remaining in the fourth quarter.
