I cant get over why so many people are saying such negative things about a strong hard working solid player like Sarah Parsons. If you look at the Cobras stats she is in the top five of ALL time in Rebounds and also the top 5 for Offensive Rebounds!!

This girl is a very handy player that anyone would be lucky to have in their team! I mean you dont win the Defensive Player of the Year for 2008 aswell as the Golden Hands award then come Runner Up Golden Hands in 2009 because she is not talented, This girl can play!!

Anyone would be lucky to have her in their team!

Ive also read that why would she not play WNBL if she was so good or Why would she leave a coach like Cheryl Chambers??
There are mitigating factors for players sometimes they may have personal reasons, They may have been told to rest an injury for a certain period of time as it could be detrimental to their future playing career? Who knows maybe they feel that a certain coach has nothing too offer them??

I know that she had a spot lined up for the 2007/08 WNBL season with the Perth Lynx but through no fault of her own this roster spot fell through after the sacking of the Perth Coach at the time Paul O'Brien which would have hit any player hard!

We may speculate on all things but the truth is unless you know the person or the reasons behind decisions that have been made by them DONT judge! Im all for freedom of speech but put things nicely you dont have to be so rude and harsh all the time!!

I say goodluck to Sarah in whatever she may choose to do in her career :)

Lets focus on making Womens Basketball great in this country and get it the recognition it deserves!

So your first 2 posts on here is about a team you do not support and a player you do not know? You decided to make your first post on a 'decent' ABA player? I just thought that someone who was a 'avid' basketball fan might of made their first post in the NBL or NBA thread, not ABA.

Your whole write up sounds the same as Imported TJH almost verbatim. All thats been said about Parsons is her shooting % needs to improve (30% is very poor) and since her departure the Cobras have gained 2 WNBL players who contribute in one of the best WNBL teams in the country. There has been no personal attack on her at all. I can understand of people being over-protective of their girlfriends (especially when batting above their average) but they simply need to read what has been writtemn.

As Judge Judy says "If it doesnt make sense, then its usually not true".

I follow ABA & WNBL I dont really follow NBL at all so why would I write about something I have no interest in??? I like Parsons as a player and would love her to be at my team, I can honestly say that my only contact with her was at an after match function when I congratulated her on a great game, she wouldnt know me from a bar of soap!!

So your saying that to be a fan of a certain player you have to be their best friend??? Im a HUGE fan of Kevin Garnett but we have never met and I havent been to his house for a BBQ? So I cant write about him or defend him?

Congratulations to the Cobras for securing the services of 2 great Sydney Uni players in Dee Butler & Ellie Manou (I support Sydney Uni and have for a very long time :) ) hopefully they have a great season!

Yeah 30% isnt a great number for last season it was just an off season and hopefully she can get her avg up for her new team! When I mentioned about the negativity it was in reference to the comments in regards to her rebounding numbers being so big only being because she is getting the rebounds from her own missed shots, So maybe some of it is but as long as she follows her shot and gets the rebound then she is atleast trying to rectify her missed shot which is what all coaches would want!

And why revert to being nasty about someones partner? Thats what doesnt make sense? I just dont like the negativity, and as I said in my first post Im all for making womens basketball great in this country and gaining the recognition it deserves!!

Im not against Parsons at all. I never said she was a bad player or anything even close to that.

I just feel there are certain areas where she could work on to improve to the next level (eg getting shooting % up, shot selection). I feel her defence is a very good standard. My intention was never to 'personally attack' Parsons and am sorry if she or anyone else felt that way.

All I can say is I wish her luck in Tassie and if she can improve on the areas mentioned she should be close to a roster spot on a WNBL team next season. She has some good players around her next season to really step up.

Going over old ground people. Melb Wildcat there are coaching positions come up every SEABL season, with your attention to detail on players you should apply for one.

Unfortunately those positions do not pay enough and I don't have the time to do such a role. If Im going to do something I want to be able to give it 100%.

Keep it simple fellas, one thread, one group discussion.

No we're talking about an individual here so in this instance I'm happy to leave it be.
