Maybe that should be PRE-draft action ... it's a bit early to kick off at 6 pm AEST, considering out friends in the West will still be slaving away in the office. Perhaps 8.30 AEST for the draft, and we can roll it over to Monday if required?

If you everyone else wants friday night, i could pretty easily come up with an ordered list (plus a couple of guidelines re: positions) if someone else (ie. Skindog - mod?) is willing to just do the draft for me - shouldnt be to difficult doing it off a list.
Obviously, i'd prefer the night changed, but this is also easy to sort out.

question number 2:

Who's deciding the positions?
Because looking at the teams from last season, people had Brannen, Dwight and Ronaldson at C... fair enough, but i wouldnt think Brannen or Ronaldson should be considered a C this season.

And then you've got guys like Ballinger, Forman, Knight etc. who would all be iffy. Not are really even F/C's, but will likely spend plenty of time at the 5 this season.

I'd just like to have some idea before the draft.

Always a difficult one. I made the decision not to have split positions, mostly for simplicity's sake. The Dawg's call now though.

I am sure there will be a player list (with positions) that will clarify it all before the draft.

Question: How long are we anticipating that the draft will take? This would make it a lot easier to determine times we are or aren't available.

At the end of the day I'm dubious anyway because I'm overloaded with uni work until Friday of next week, so I'm a dubious starter for any draft that is scheduled.

I'd therefore like to notify all that due to the nature of the competition (a good draft is essential for a good season) there is a possibility that the new schoolers will be placed in Voluntary Administration and not partake in the 2005/2006 Ozhoops FNBL Division 2 season. However, at this stage it is unknown. General Manager Lethal Vertical declined to comment when contacted. "More will be known shortly" was all he offered. Fans are hoping that this will not happen, as it was only this week that the 'Old Schoolers' were saved and a new license was given to continue the club under the name 'new schoolers'. Newly appointed League Chief Executive Skindog The Hawk said "It would be a sad occurence should we lose a quality participant in our league such as the new schoolers. They contribute so much and have a proud one season history in the competition.

Awesome to see that the guy who shouldn't even be in Div 1 is holding the draft up.

Also great to see that the thread where Skindog was asked to justify CoT's mysterious inclusion in Div 1 ahead of people like MacTavish who finished higher than him in Div 2 last season has disappeared. Let nobody question the great man! He answers to nobody! All dissent and discussion must be erased!

I'm waiting for the "special points" rule to be introduced, whereby Skindog, in addition to reserving the right to set the draft as inconveniently and non-negotiably as he likes, and bypassing the established promotion/demotion rules without explanation, has the right to allocate points to contestants in an arbitrary manner as he sees fit.

Heck, maybe my user won't even exist for long after making this post -- enjoy it while you can.

Skindog has refused to answer, either privately or publicly, how CoT was promoted, ahead of of people like MacTavish (who finished ahead of CoT in Div 2 last season and is playing again this season). In fact, the last thread calling for an explanation appears to have been deleted.

Somebody has to speak up and act as a conscience when people act corruptly. That may be inconvenient for people like you and Skindog who like to bend the rules and not have to answer to anybody about it, but I guess I'll just have to put up with the fatal insult of having somebody with your immense integrity and esteem roll his eyes at me.

As far as I can see it, you beat a few guys who did jack all, and whinged a comical amount all season. No, that's not what I'd want in my competitors. I'd want people who respect the agreed rules and actually finished ahead of everybody who's in League 2.

You aren't God
Of course, only God can call for rules to be applied -- everybody else should just shut the hell up and cop it sweet.

you're just a sad case that has no (Extremely Naughty Word!) life
As opposed to a person who identifies himself by his relation to a third rate court announcer. That's not sad at all.

and needs to be thumped by someone. Hard.
I guess that's the witless imbecile's solution to everything. Of course, I'm glad you said "someone" rather than yourself, because I'm hardly going to be afraid of a bespectacled fat prick who's straight out of the "Where's Wally" picture books.

For whatever reason, i'm in Division 1.
So it's too much for me to ask Skindog what that reason might be? Of course it is.

I appreciate it.
Oh well, case closed then.

Deal with it and stop being a big poof.
I didn't think they let school children run cinemas, even when they were handed down to them by daddy.

Explanation - It was my stuff up. I've managed to put together FNBL and this draft and acquisition of 22 players within the last 3 days, whilst also trying to juggle work and my other various commitments (which also involved spending a majority of Thursday in the air over NSW & Victoria).

For what it's worth, I have spoken with all affected parties and they seem to be happy with the final resolution of the issue.

As such, things will stay as is. There will 10 teams in Division 1, and 12 teams in Division 2.

There will be a continuation of the current drafting system until 8pm EST tomorrow (Sunday) night, at which time we will go into MSN drafting, with 90 second headways. All participants are aware of this, and as such if they are not able to participate they have been made aware of the alternatives (read: they can nominate a proxy or myself to draft on their behalf).

CoT and Stumps, shut the fuck up about the system and who was promoted/demoted by accident. I'm the commish, I've made the ruling, and funnily enough, I haven't had too much problems with it. Stumps, if you're not happy with it, then give MacTavish your team and he can be in Div 1.

Thankyou to everyone who has expressed their confidence in the way I am running FNBL. I appreciate your support and I look forward to the upcoming season.

FNBL Commish.

PS - Any further sniping about the system will result in deletion of posts and possible loss of draft picks - i.e. you will be relegated to the bottom of the round and/or lose a draft pick. I don't want to do that, but if it's the only way to stop this crap then that's the way it will run.

And yet you seem to vote Liberal...how ironic.
While we're on the topic of personal politics (one I didn't start, you'll note) thank you for showing us above how it's done in Labor circles (and how to bypass the swear filter, which I guess is a mod only privilege).
