From the GC rumors thread.
Worth bringing out for those who don't read every team thread, as the results could have a big affect on the league and future Boomers teams.
Jason Cadee suffers suspected broken pelvis in car accident.

You guys make me sick. "Speedy" jokes are not funny for a guy who has just been in a car accident.

Who should they sign as a replacement (If needed)? How many cap points do they have left?

Gibson(8 )/Cadee (3)
Goulding(1)/
Harvey(8 )/Hoare(8 )
Petrie(8 )/Garlepp(3)
Rickert(10)/Davison(10)
=59
Some of those points will be lower but I'm not sure by how much. Even at that points level, and with Cadee they have 14 points free.
So Kendall at a 7, place Cadee outside the points cap (longterm injured or some such method) and they could still afford an import. Or they might offer the spot to Demos and keep Cadee on the list.

Do not want!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Demos had been going well in SEABL but he's no point.
Hypothetically is there is an import spot free, would Massingale be worth a look as a 'cheap' option? I don't mind his game. Surprised he hasn't been signed on anywhere else.

There are two spots free if Cadee is still recovering at the start of the season. 1 is an import spot if Rickert's naturalisation comes through.

I'd love to see CJ get a chance to prove himself at NBL level. He's been here a while now and has proven to be a consistently high performer at SEABL level.
They have 14 points free if Cadee is on the injury list. Not a lot of flexibility there given one is likely to be an import, so it will be interesting to see what they do with Rickert, given it seems his citizenship isnt going through.
Still, even just adding Gleeson and another import they have a pretty good team:
Rickert, Petrie, import 2-3, Harvey, Gibson
Garlepp, Hoare, Davison, Guolding, Gleeson (?)

A lot depends on how long Cadee's recovery time is. If it is just the first few rounds then the solution provided by Paul would be sufficient. If it is half a season or more then cutting Cadee and having 17 points to use may be more desirable.

How long is Cadee's contract?
Silencer, I am pretty sure with Cadee they have 59 points, so putting him on injury waivers would only give them 14 to play with.

3 years

See my post above where I worked out their points from the Player Rankings on the NBL website (plus the knowledge that Goulding was signed before free agency and therefore remained a 1).

If he was to miss the whole season, surely they'd be approved for an injury exemption and his salary paid by insurance for the first year? Depending on the extent of rehab, they may be better suited delaying his debut for a year?
Silencer, I think you added them up wrong mate. It comes to 56 without Cadee. And yes, there would be no need to cut Cadee, he is a keeper, his points dont count when on the long term injury list.

Oops, that is what comes of writing the post twice. :P

If my memory serves me right, it is not a full pay out by the insurance company and a player had to miss a fair few games first before the
fraction of the salary kicked in.
AFAIK....very FEW clubs pay the insurance these days.
If it paid immediately on injury it might be ok but most injured players' clubs never got a cent from insurance.

I think you will find they are at 58 points.
With plenty to spare.
Let's hope Cadee recovers ASAP and gets back to full fitness.
That would make sense with Davison being a 9. Still, if Cadee is out for a period that would give them an import at 10 and a local 5. Who could they sign for that, Fereti? Demos?
