Pretty good add, nice idea, but the song total is crap. That will turn people away from going to the games.

I think it's a good choice of music. You've got a bleedingly obvious and well fitting pun in the title of a well known song by a great Australian band, which combined with the attention grab of the ad, will make the casual fan aware that basketball is coming back. It's does a lot to make the game our own, as opposed to the standard hip hop "N-word ball" image basketball currently holds. It worked in the 80's and 90's but the fad has worn off, and I think the ad is much better than some ad of a bunch of guys in baggy pants standing around listening to a repetitive beat.
Otherwise, what do you suggest? Maybe they could just have some fat bald white guy rap with a fake accent?

I think its a great advert! will get peoples attention and I couldnt have asked for anything better...
I love it! A real move away from the "Americanisation" which everyone seems to complain about, and suddenly it seems uniquely Australian. The players in the ad all seem to be having a great time, too, which hopefully should be a little bit catching.
You can almost hear every mother's cry...."No ball in the house!!"
I like it! Must look out for it in better quality.

I love the advert as well.
The funny thing about moving away from the "Americanisation" is that I always hear AcDc getting played when I watch NBA games.

Why did they have to put the big black guy in bed hitting on the white chick. Isn't that a bit of a negative stereotype?
Otherwise I though the add was quite decent.

I thought it was a bit weird having Taj (the Sydney Kings "big black guy") as the only man of colour in there... Was it the quality, or did he give the chick the corniest wink ever? lol... talk about non-threatening... heh...
So who have we got in there?
Balls? > Ambercrombie > Gibson > Damo > Hotties (& Carfino and Gaze) > Hinder + Helliwell? > Davidson > ? + Loughton? > Taj
Little bit corny, but I think a really good production to get some hype up... will be interesting to see how much they put it out there...

That doesn't sound right. Hasn't the 04:00-04:04am Rage timeslot always been reserved for the hip hop comedy genre? That OneHD clip is clearly rock.

Not exactly. That five-minute block was formerly paid for by Centrelink, which would go a long way in explaining the tendency for it to be dominated by gangsta wannabe dole bludging clowns.

Are the uniforms in the commercial the actual game uniforms for the season. They looked to be all the same designs just different colours and logos... Surely and1 haven't gone for the easy generic option! Dont get me wrong, I think they look great. I'd just be disappointed if they all look the same.
Yet the GC Blaze sported a completely different look in their preseason game v Korea. And the jerseys being sold on the 36ers site that can have your name included look different also.
Can anyone shed any light?

What pisses me most about the linked article is the last paragraph, why was that brought into it? None of that crap is productive in a basketball sense, but I'm not surprised either.
saw the ad twice in about 40 mins today, so its getting some good airtime
