Send me a PM stating whether you are for or against changing to 3 Pt % as a stat (as opposed to 3 Pt Made).
Opportunity to vote is until 5pm next Wednesday - the cut-off point for Round 4.

So you've already made a determination here? Notice in the round 3 results table it's gone from 3 point % to 3 pointers made? :x
Not happy Jan. What's the point in picking someone that shoots them at a good clip? May as well have just chosen a team of CJs.

Sigh.
Two points here:
1. The draft (and every past FNBL contest, and in fact pretty much every rotisserie league in the world) has been conducted under a rule of counting 3PM, not 3P%. Incidentally, are you the hand in the Skindog glove-puppet? You mysteriously end up in Div 1 (with still no explanation from "the Commish") even though you still don't seem to know what you're doing in rotisserie fantasy basketball, then next Skindog inexplicably makes a midseason change from 3PM to 3P% when coincidentally you're just about the only person in the comp who wants it. What's in the photos you have of him? Can you tell us what the next bizarre decision is that you're plotting behind the scenes?
2. Next time, you may want to look at CJ's success rate from outside last season before you embarrass yourself by citing him as an example of somebody who hits many but doesn't shoot a good clip.

I know he shoots them well Stumps - 41% - but i've been there when he can't hit the side of a barn and just keeps jacking them up because he couldn't be f*cked driving the lane. I guess I remember the off nights more than the good ones. Overall, yes, he's pretty good.
I chose Stephen Black because he shoots 3s very well, and doesn't have complete reliance on them. If 3 pointers made is what everyone else wants, ok. I'll trade my way to success!
As for the Skindog thing - wtf? I'm in Divvie 1 because he stuffed up, and i'm fine with that. 8)

I know he shot them well last year Stumps - 41% - but i've been there when he can't hit the side of a barn and just keeps jacking them up because he couldn't be f*cked driving the lane. I guess I remember the off nights more than the good ones.
But over the season (which I believe is the duration of our competition, funnily enough), he's elite in both 3PM and 3P%, regardless of individual performances -- every 1 of 7 night is balanced by a 5 of 7 night, and that's no different than going 3 of 7 every game of the season.
I chose Stephen Black and Corletto as they shoot 3s very well, and not having complete reliance on them.
Um, if I had Stephen Black (34.5% from outside last season but 2.3 treys per game), I'd be begging for 3PM rather than 3P%.
Anyway, I don't understand how not having complete reliance on threes is supposed to be a positive for the purposes of the specialist three-point shooting category in the game.
Don't worry, maybe you'll figure this whole business out by next season, or the one after at the latest.

BTW, for clarification, CoT edited his post while I was replying, so if the quotes don't match, the tone is inconsistent, or it looks like I'm responding to stuff he didn't say, you know why.

Black shot 50% from the 3 point range 2 seasons ago, and hit 3 of them per game.
Anyway, it's all good, when my guys get healthy things will improve. :)
btw, I think you edited my post for your own purposes....

Nah - haven't made a determination yet, although the vote is swinging the way of 3 Point Made, but not by much...the only problem being that neither side has an absolute majority due to the apathy of some of FNBL's members.
If you haven't voted, PM me your vote now! Voting closes 5pm today!

Are you serious? We're still voting on this despite the fact that we all drafted based on the rules being 3PM? Seriously, this is beyond absurd.

I don't know whether we all drafted based on the rules being 3PM...in fact, I know it didn't come into my considerations at all...:?

Actually, I didn't change the rules mid-season. The rules that are on the FNBL website are last year's rules. I did the stat sheet based on using 3P% as a stat rather than 3PM. Being the benevolent dictator that I am, I am putting it to the vote. If people really just want me to be a horse's arse I'll just say it's 3P%... :?

The only people who didn't are people who didn't look at the rules.

Then just get it out of the way and do it then so that the rest of us who have experience managing roto competitions have an excuse to put up our hands to take over the frigging competition then. I certainly appreciate the effort you're going to, but IMHO your attitude has been atrocious in some areas.

It doesn't help having some of the most demanding customers in the known universe, but I'll take the "effort" portion of your comment as a compliment Stumpsy.
Keep in mind, that just because the rest of the world does it one way, it doesn't mean we can't do it differently.
Anywho, roll on 5pm and we can get this out of the way!

I don't think I'm being demanding. I'm not asking you to add to your effort in any way, or to spend any more time on this than you have been. I have nothing but compliments for your dedication to the task thus far. Updates have been timely and thorough, and the spreadsheets are comprehensive and accurate. You've exceeded expectations there -- well done, and I'm very grateful.
All I've complained about is a lack of transparency and fair process, which involves no additional effort on your part. One would assume that if there are changes to existing long-standing rules or exceptions being made to those rules on an individual basis, that these changes will be notified in advance and these exceptions will be explained. That's not too much to ask, and it makes it fairer for everybody. I know this is an NBL fantasy league, but I think copying the NBL's mid-season rule changes and opaque decision-making is probably taking the NBL flavour a little too far.
Keep in mind, that just because the rest of the world does it one way, it doesn't mean we can't do it differently.
Of course, but if we're going to change globally-accepted standards and the long-established rules of this particular competition, let's get that sorted out before the season starts and the draft occurs.

I'm not sure if this has been posted, but the reason 3pt made is used is that you're already ranking players on FG%, so a bad shooter gets punished twice for having a low 3pt %. Using 3pt made gives you a bonus for picking a proficient (but not necessarily accurate) outside shooter.

I had a quick read but didn't see it. Hopefully it will result in more people picking 3pt made.
